Asprovalta is now a major tourist resort on the Strymonikos Gulf, hosting thousands of visitors during the summer season. Located right in the boundaries of three prefectures of Halkidiki, Thessaloniki and Kavala, harmoniously combining green mountains and blue sea.

The area offers alternative type of tourism, sites of intense archaeological, cultural, environmental and religious interest. There are many interesting excursions and short trips to the nearby areas. 

The city of Thessaloniki, the beautiful beaches of Halkidiki, the archaeological site of Amfipolis the picturesque town of Kavala, tour by boat to Mount Athos etc.

The 11 km sandy beach of Asprovalta has been awarded with Blue Flag.

Worth it to see:

• The post-Byzantine church of Agia Marina is located in the 75th km of the old highway Thessaloniki – Kavala, just a few kilometers away from Asprovalta, in the valley of the Macedonian Tempi.

• The Therapeutic Thermal Center of Nea Apollonia is located 35 km west of Asprovalta, on the Old National Thessaloniki – Kavala motorway.

• Lake Volvi is 22 km from the region of Asprovalta. It is in a row with Lake Koronia which is 11,5 km away. Together the two lakes make up a wetland of international importance under the name “Lake Koronia – Volvi“.
